PLYMOUTH, Mich. - V1 Pro Digital Coaching System was selected to capture swings of participants at the UBS 17th Hole Challenge exhibit being held at Rockefeller Center in New York City and TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida from May 4-13.
Considered to be one of the most daunting holes in golf, the plaza at Rockefeller Center has been transformed into the iconic 17th hole "Island Green" from TPC Sawgrass, the site of this week's Players Championship. The 17th Hole replica features palm trees lining the approach to the green, complete with an intimidating water hazard and challenging sand traps. "PGA TOUR Experiences and UBS identified V1 Pro as the only video platform that can instantly capture and deliver the ultimate golf experience for participants", said Gary Palis, Vice President, Interactive Frontiers. "While V1 Pro is widely recognized as the leading video analysis system, its functional diversity is certainly showcased at this event."
The free exhibit is expected to draw several thousand people and is staffed by instructors from TPC Sawgrass TOUR Academy who will use V1 Pro to capture swings and instantly send them to participants to view and keep as an event souvenir. "Our client, UBS, is very happy with the quick results and excellent quality that V1 has been able to provide for this unique event." said Kyle Guthrie, Director of Operations, PGA TOUR Academy. "The staff and support at V1 developed a fine product and have adapted quickly for any changes we have needed." It is estimated that the V1 Pro will capture and send nearly 20,000 swings from the UBS 17th Hole Challenge by week's end.
